📸 2025 MCAV Photography Competition – Now Open Online!

We're shaking things up this year! Our much-loved Photography Competition is going digital — making it easier than ever for photographers near and far to take part.

Whether you're behind the lens in the high country or capturing the spirit of the bush from afar, we want to see your best shots.



Here’s what’s new and exciting:

  • Now open online — Submit your entries from anywhere!
  • 30 finalists will be selected and showcased.
  • 13 winning images will feature in the very first MCAV Photography Calendar.
  • Final winners will be judged and announced live at the MCAV Get Together this October.

Entry Details:

  • $10 per image for MCAV members
  • $15 per image for non-members
  • Enter as many images as you like — the more, the better!

Please note - Entries are not being accepted on the weekend and must be done online. All entries must be received by September 22.


Images should be submitted as a JPEG - 2000 pixels or more for longest edge. Please make sure your file is between 2mb - 5mb.
All images submitted must be original and have been taken/created on or since 1 January 2023. AI generated images are not accepted.
Entrants retain copyright of their images. The entrant provides the MCAV a limited use authorisation to publish and distribute their photographs for the sole purposes of promoting the competition and the calendar. Images will be credited with the name of the photographer if used by the MCAV in any promotion.
Do not include watermarks or other branding on images.

How the competition works:

There are THREE catergories for photographs, but one overall winner. Senior and Junior winners overall.
Catergories are: Working Horse, Mountain Cattlemen and Drought.
All entrants will be required to email/dropox the image to the MCAV.
When sending the email please use your first and last name in the subject line, along with the catergory you are entering.
Please select the number of entries you are providing using this form, and then email/dropbox the images to secretary@mcav.com.au.

Event

You do not need to attend the Get Together to participate in the photography competition. However, if you would like to attend to speak to judges or to see your work displayed, you will need to purchase a ticket.
