Attracting 4000 visitors, the Omeo Get Together will showcase the best of the Mountain Cattlemen's heritage.

The 2018 Get Together will be the Mountain Cattlemen's 44th annual event. This family event has run each year since 1975 and is a celebration of high country life from previous eras.

The Get Together is held on private land, and camping facilities, toilets, hot showers, food and merchandise stalls, demonstrations of lost trades and all types of entertainment are provided.  Participation in activities is encouraged at the Get Together to experience and celebrate our heritage.

2018 Get Together

A short interview highlight the 2018 event.

The 2018 MCAV Get Together will be held at ‘Livingstone Waters' Omeo Valley Rd, Omeo. Thank you to the Ferguson Family for allowing us the use of this beautiful property.

Our Get Together is a 3 day family event that celebrates the history and culture of the Mountain Cattlemen.  At our event we demonstrate lost trades and bush skills through participation and competition.

Events of interest include the womens and mens tug of war, whip cracking, dog high jump, special events for children as well as our traditional horse events including the prestigious Mountain Cattlemen’s Cup Challenge.  The bush poetry competition and historical panel discussions in the heritage tent are very popular on Saturdays, while children are entertained at the kids tent and saturday night disco.

Once again the Cattlemen’s Bar will be a friendly meeting point surrounded by plenty of trade stalls and food outlets. Night entertainment includes a variety of live bands so there will be something for everyone.

Camping is included in your ticket price.  Toilets, hot showers and water is provided (bring your own container!).  Dogs are allowed, provided they are on a lead and always cared for.  We have 4 camping areas: family camping, general camping, RV Camping and horse camping areas.  Please note that the horses taking part in events will be separated from those horses brought along for recreation.  Biosecurity checks will take place to ensure animal's health and wellbeing.  Any animal with a health problem will be asked to leave the venue immediately, this is not negotiable.

Our small team led by Scott Jennison are working hard to put on a great show.

Online 3 day tickets are available at reduced prices, click the link on any of our pages.  Day tickets for Saturday and Sunday will be available from the entry gate.

The MCAV thanks the East Gippsland Shire Council for its support of the 2018 Get Together.
